Our values guide our actions. To achieve respectful and supportive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses, we recognise the cultural history, diversity, and distinctiveness of their communities.
Stantec acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to the land, waters, and communities where we work. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Partnering with First Nations for climate action
We partnered with the First Nations Clean Energy Network to address climate action and to support the role of First Nations people in Australia’s energy transition. The partnership includes financial aid and knowledge sharing on First Nations-led renewable energy projects throughout Australia between our team and Network members. We participate in the Indigenous Australia Engineering School through our partnership with Engineering Aid Australia—helping host 25 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Year 9–12 from various parts of Australia, getting them excited about a career in engineering. And we’re a proud partner of the Clontarf Foundation, a not-for-profit organization helping improve the education, self-esteem, life skills, and employment opportunities of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
